Pakatan not walking the talk, claims Wee

Pakatan Harapan’s act of appointing politicians to state government-linked companies contradicts its earlier stand, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

(The Star) – The MCA president cited the example of Pakatan politicians who were appointed to the board of trustees of the Federal Territories Foundation (Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan).

He noted that Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad is the chairman.

“It is strange that Pakatan leaders did not walk the talk. Aren’t they the ones who always call for the abolition of political appointments?” he asked.

In another post, Dr Wee questioned Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching’s statement that people should not compare the allocations for different types of schools.

“After she became deputy minister, she said education is not a zero-sum game. We should not compare the allocation from the government to different types of schools,” he said.

Dr Wee said this was contrary to her statement before she became a deputy minister.

He noted that Teo said the allocation received by Chinese primary schools does not match the number of students they have.

“There are 1,297 Chinese primary schools.

“The number of Chinese primary schools is more than Tamil schools (523), Christian schools (438), Sekolah Agama Rakyat (116). There are more students in Chinese primary schools, but why the allocation for these schools are the same?

“So previously we can compare, but now we can’t?” he asked.
