Annuar Musa: Perikatan parties have agreed to discuss seat allocation

(feedly.com) – Five representatives from each Perikatan Nasional component parties, especially Barisan Nasional, PAS and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), will be picked to discuss the seat allocation for the coming snap polls, says Umno secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

“The parties have agreed to have five representatives from each party respectively meet and discuss seat allocation.

“Most importantly, we have to be together in this so that we can be trusted by the people,” he said during a press conference after appointing 12 Federal Territories Residents Representative Council at Menara DBKL here on Saturday (July 11).

Annuar said the seat allocation issue should be done internally to avoid polemics over the issue.

“All our parties have our own formula, but we need to discuss the formula between parties.

“Most importantly, we all support our Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin,” he said.

On former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad forming an independent bloc with Parti Warisan Sabah, Anuar said it was better this way as it meant Dr Mahathir did not support the opposition.

“This means there is still room for us to work together,” he said.
