Wan Azizah: Invitation for PAS to join Pakatan came from Azmin

(The Star) – The invitation for PAS to join Pakatan Harapan came from Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and is not representative of the coalition, says Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“It was not an invitation from us, it was from the Mentri Besar (Datuk Seri Azmin Ali),” said the Opposition leader at PKR headquarters here.

When asked about PAS asking PKR to join a third opposition bloc together with Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia instead, Wan Azizah said it was merely a reaction to Azmin’s invitation.

“Let me clarify that it wasn’t an olive branch, it was just a reaction to the invitation by Datuk Mentri Besar,” said Wan Azizah, who is also PKR president.

On Monday, Azmin had called for Opposition parties to “soldier on” together again to fight in the next general election, “as a team”.

PAS vice president Datuk Mohammad Amar Abdullah later said that PKR should join their “third force” for the next general election.
