BTN to be restructured using Japanese syllabus?

The National Civics Bureau (BTN) has been suspended and will be restructured.

(The Sun Daily) – The government is looking at retaining the much- criticised BTN as a vehicle to increase productivity among civil servants.

“For the moment, all BTN activities have been suspended. We are waiting for further instructions from the Prime Minister’s Department,” Datuk Ibrahim Saad was quoted by The Malaysian Insight as saying today.

“It has not been finalised yet. There will be a review of its workforce and restructuring of the unit.”

The news portal quoted another source from the civil service as saying Putrajaya is looking East in the restructuring.

“They are looking at a Japanese syllabus to boost productivity. BTN would be used as a vehicle to step up the civil service from within,” the unnamed source said.

BTN, which was formed in 1974 , came under heavy criticism allegedly instilling racial supremacy over other ethnic groups.
