DAP trapped with its own action to use PKR logo – Mohamad Hasan

(NST) – DAP’s action to use PKR logo in the 14th General Election (GE14) is now coming back to bite.

Negeri Sembilan Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, said the use of PKR on the campaign trail has caused confusion among DAP supporters.

“This has prompted DAP to use both its logo and of PKR’s. DAP initially used the other party’s logo to deceive Malay voters, but it has instead caused confusion among the Chinese supporters.

“I was told that DAP has resorted to raising its own flags in ceramah. I think Lim Kit Siang (of DAP) has started to regret the party’s earlier decision (to use PKR flag). He thought he has the Chinese voters in the palm of his hand.

“Those in urban areas might understand the reason behind the use of PKR logo, but many others may be puzzled with the move,” he told reporters after attending a get-together with the people in Taman Ampangan, here, earlier.

Mohamad said DAP’s action of using its own logo at ceramah and programmes was in violation of the Election Commission rules.

“The opposition parties are not supposed to use flags other than PKR.

“They (opposition parties) have fallen into their own trap,” he said.

Lim was said to have taken a risk by instructing the election machinery to distribute materials with DAP and PKR logo together during campaign.

DAP founder Dr Chen Man Hin was reported to have voiced his dissatisfaction over the party’s initial decision to campaign without its Rocket logo.

Also present were BN candidates for states constituencies, Datuk Abu Ubaidah Redza (Ampangan) and Mazalan Maarop (Lenggeng).
