Pas’ cryptic videos, #kekaltenang campaign fuel rumours amid political turmoil

Initially perceived as a response to the tensions following the reported arson attack on DAP MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham’s residence, the intent behind the campaign took a different turn.

(Sinar Daily) – In the midst of the current political upheaval, Pas and its leaders have called upon their supporters to maintain composure on social media, advocating the use of the hashtag #kekaltenang.

Yesterday, the official Pas web pages prominently displayed #kekaltenang, highlighting the significance of remaining composed during these uncertain times.

However, no further details or explanations were provided alongside the hashtag.

In addition to the online campaign, a video surfaced on Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s TikTok account, featuring the Pas president peacefully relaxing in a garden, accompanied by the same hashtag.

Despite the video, there was no contextual information provided.

Initially perceived as a response to the tensions following the reported arson attack on DAP MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham’s residence, the intent behind the campaign took a different turn.

Pas Youth released a video echoing the same hashtag, hinting at the possibility of statutory declarations (SDs) showcasing support for a potential prime minister beyond the Dewan Rakyat.

Pas information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari clarified that the hashtag was intended to advise followers to remain calm and refrain from engaging in instigations.

When asked about potential coup rumors associated with the hashtag, Fadhli reportedly acknowledged the possibility but expressed a lack of concrete confirmation.

“However, I lack concrete confirmation. I’d need to verify, but I believe this ‘mood’ emerged independently,” he said.

Despite the uncertainty, Fadhli firmly dismissed any connection between the social media posts and the incident at Ngeh’s residence.

“I don’t think it’s related to the arson claims. It’s a minor issue that has been resolved,” he said.
