(FMT) – The police have summoned 20 individuals involved in the “Selamatkan Malaysia” rally organised by Perikatan Nasional Youth to provide their statements.

Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, a member of the rally’s organising committee, told FMT that he and 19 others have been called in for questioning at the Dang Wangi police station at 10am tomorrow.

Earlier, Harian Metro reported that the police have opened investigation papers on the rally that took place in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Allaudeen Abdul Majid said that the investigation is being carried out under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

“We have opened investigation papers and will call any individual who would be able to assist us in our investigation.

“They will be called soon to have their statements recorded,” the Malay daily quoted him as saying.
