PAS: 2nd biggest national shame if Zahid’s 47 CBT, graft & money laundering cases are dropped after state polls

JUDGING by the chain of events with UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi playing a stellar role in the unity government as the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), the above prophecy “is likely to happen and will become a black mark in Malaysia’s history”.

(Focus Malaysia) – If it is indeed true that Zahid’s 47 charges of criminal breach of trust, corruption and money laundering involving Yayasan Akalbudi (YAB) are dropped after the six state elections on Aug 12, the case will be the second biggest disgrace for the country after the 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Bhd) scandal, according to National PAS information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin.

“Most recently, the status of deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Datuk Raja Rozela Raja Toran, who had posed many questions to Zahid during Zahid’s trial has become a question mark to many as to whether she has been removed from the prosecution team or has been replaced,” the Jerantut MP pointed out in Facebook statement.

“When asked by an NST (New Straits Times) reporter about Raja Rozela’s status, one of the lawyers in the prosecution team only said, ‘I cannot confirm whether Raja Rozela is permanently removed from the case’.”

Added Khairil who is an engineer by profession: “Thus far, no official explanation has been made by the Attorney-General (AG). This is really unfortunate for Malaysia if it’s true. Isn’t it the duty of the public prosecutor to prosecute based on the law? People are watching.”
