(The Star) – “Datuk Roy” has been identified by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The key planner in a corruption probe involving the Jana Wibawa programme, has been identified as 54-year-old Mohd Hussein Mohd Nasir.

In a statement on Monday (March 13), the MACC named the man as a person of interest to help in one of its investigations.

“Mohd Hussein Mohd Nasir, 54, also known as Datuk Roy’s last known address is No 3, Lorong RRM Semambu, 25350, Kuantan, Pahang,” it said.

Datuk Roy had previously been accused in court and sentenced to prison for corruption.

Previously, on March 9, the MACC arrested four individuals aged between 40 and 50, including an MACC officer and a woman, for allegedly asking for and accepting a bribe of RM400,000 to avoid investigation into the case.

The woman was released on bail while the other three suspects have been remanded until March 13.

The Jana Wibawa programme was approved for implementation by the Cabinet in November 2020.

Its aim was to assist bumiputra contractors to weather the economic hardship during the Covid-19 pandemic.
