PN wouldn’t have gotten Malay votes without being racist, says DAP’s Ramasamy

DAP leader P Ramasamy has accused Bersatu and PAS of racism, saying this was why they had the support of the Malays at last year’s general election.

(MalaysiaNow) – “In the last GE15, I don’t think that PN would have got more than 50% of Malay votes without engaging in the worst forms of racism and religious extremism,” Ramasamy, who is the Penang deputy chief minister, said in a statement.

He also denied that Pakatan Harapan (PH) was guilty of racism, in an apparent response to Bersatu’s Wan Saiful Wan Jan who accused the ruling coalition of playing up racial issues.

Ramasamy conceded that the Malays had voted overwhelmingly for Bersatu and PAS under Perikatan Nasional (PN), adding however that the two parties reinforced “the two forms of extremism”.
