“GE15 results a wake-up call for BN, UMNO, road ahead not easy,” says Hisham

(Focus Malaysia) – SEMBRONG MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the dismal results of the 15th general election (GE15) should serve as a “wake-up call” for Barisan Nasional (BN) and UMNO members.

The BN treasurer-general said the coalition – and to an extent, the party – need to work on reclaiming public support for the longevity of the party, adding that the road ahead will not be easy for them.

“We need to improve and do whatever it takes to fix this for the sake of our beloved party. There is so much to be done to regain the people’s confidence [in the party]. We cannot afford anymore missteps,” he said in a video that is making its rounds on social media today.

This is following the coalition’s big loss in the aftermath of the general election on Nov 19, which saw it winning only 30 seats, with analysts going as far as to call it the “end of an era” for the former ruling coalition.
