Rafizi Ramli tipu rakyat

Rafizi trains guns on PN, lists its failures in govt

(FMT) – PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has trained his guns at Perikatan Nasional (PN), listing the coalition’s main failures during its 18 months in power.

He said these failures included the poor handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, a failure to provide National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) discounts and the alleged involvement of Bersatu-PN leaders in scandals.

“During Muhyiddin Yassin’s time as prime minister, the people went through two long Movement Control Orders (MCO) which affected the economy.

“This also failed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, with the country recording 4.92 million cases and 36,482 deaths,” he said in a statement. (READ MORE HERE)

Rafizi Ramli is taking Malaysians for a ride. The UK’s Covid-19 statistics, which is only about double Malaysia’s population, is five times higher than Malaysia.

The Covid-19 statistics must be seen in relation to the country’s population or on a per capita basis.

Malaysia’s Covid-19 death rate is only 0.7% compared to, say, Indonesia, which is 2.4%, Philippines 1.6%, the UK 0.9%, the US 1.1%, Sri Lanka 2.5%, Thailand 0.7%, Spain 0.9%, Mexico 4.6%, Italy 0.8%, etc. In fact, many countries are above 2% and even as high as 5%.

Hence, at 0.7%, Malaysia can be considered quite low.
