Only Dr Mahathir can defeat Umno

Hence the politics of Malaysia is not that simple or straightforward. This is not about democracy, mandat rakyat, a clean and transparent government, etc. This is about who will be in charge of Malaysia post-GE15.

If the opposition wants to defeat Umno-Barisan Nasional in the next general election or GE15, then it will need Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to lead them. Anwar Ibrahim cannot do it. And there is no other leader from the opposition other than Dr Mahathir who can.

Umno-Barisan Nasional’s defeat in GE14 was because of Mahathir. If Anwar can do it, it would already have happened in 1999, 2004 or 2013.

Anwar could not bring the opposition to victory in three general elections. And it happened in the fourth general election in 2018 not because of Anwar. In fact, Anwar was in jail serving a sentence for the crime of sodomy at that time.

Dr Mahathir would be prepared to lead the opposition against Umno-Barisan Nasional for only one purpose: which is to ensure that Anwar Ibrahim, Najib Razak, and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi do not become prime minister. And to ensure that, Mahathir would be prepared to even make a deal with the devil.
