DAP is smarter than Umno
In that sense DAP is smarter than Umno. DAP knows when to talk and when to shut up. Umno talks too much and does not know when it should stop talking. And the confession by Tok Mat to Asia Times that Umno needs to delay its party election to prevent the party from collapsing should be given the “Statement of the Year” award. Hundreds of statements by Kit Siang cannot beat that one statement by Tok Mat.

Have you noticed that DAP has been very quiet for a while now? Even Lim Kit Siang no longer issues his endless media statements about Umno hegemony, BN failed state, PAS Taliban, and so on. And for Kit Siang to keep his trap shut, after 57 years of tok kok, that is quite an achievement indeed.
This is actually DAP’s new political strategy. Rakyat sudah menyampah dengar cakap karut dari politikus. The rakyat just want peace of mind and financial security. But all the politicians are doing is they are fighting over power and position. There is nothing which the politicians are saying that concerns the rakyat or regarding the welfare of the rakyat.
In his tape-recorded interview with Asia Times, Mohamad Hasan a.k.a. Tok Mat said Umno needs to delay its party elections until six months after GE15 to prevent the party from disintegrating. If they hold the party elections now, Umno will see an intense power-struggle that may doom the party.
Hence Tok Mat has confirmed that Umno is split into Gang Putrajaya and Gang Putra World Trade Centre. And if Umno holds it party elections now, open warfare will break out and we will see a repeat of 1987-1988.
In a week we will know whether the Registrar of Societies (RoS) will allow Umno to postpone its party elections until after GE15 or whether it must be held before the end of this year. That may also determine who will emerge supreme, Gang Putrajaya or Gang Putra World Trade Centre.
Gang Putra World Trade Centre is anticipating that Umno may be forced to hold its party election this year, so they are already talking about ‘Plan B’, whatever that is. Maybe Umno will challenge the RoS decision in court, or something like that.
The latest court filing by Muhyiddin Yassin has seriously damaged Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s credibility (SEE HERE: https://www.malaysia-today.net/files/Muhyiddin-vs-Zahid.pdf). If what Zahid did was done by anyone else, disciplinary action would have been taken against him or her by now. Basically Zahid had committed treason.
DAP knows that the war between Gang Putrajaya and Gang Putra World Trade Centre is very serious, and if not properly handled can be as bad or worse than in 1987-1988. That is why DAP is keeping very quiet. If DAP attacks Umno or the government, then the two factions in Umno will unite against the DAP onslaught. So DAP keeps quiet and lets Gang Putrajaya and Gang Putra World Trade Centre fight it out.
DAP is cleverly applying the Sun Tzu art of war. Since Umno is killing Umno, DAP stands back and just watches. They do not get involved, or else the two warring factions will gang up on DAP. This is just like in a situation when a husband and a wife fight, you do not get involved, or else they might both turn on you.
The fact that Umno is damaging itself, worse than DAP ever could, makes it logical for DAP to keep quiet and do nothing. Never interrupt your enemies when they are making mistakes. More importantly, this Umno versus Umno spectacle is making the voters nauseous.
The voters want to hear about how their welfare will be taken care of, not about who lebih anak jantan, whether Gang Putrajaya or Gang Putra World Trade Centre? Malays love to talk about telur, pondan, anak jantan, etc. I wonder why.
