Kelantan Puteri UMNO supports decision to sever ties with PAS

Approximately 25,000 members of Kelantan Puteri UMNO unanimously supported the decision announced by Kelantan UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub to sever ties with PAS in the state. 

(The Malaysian Reserve) – Nevertheless, Kelantan Puteri UMNO chief Marzuani Ardila Ariffin said they were willing to give cooperation to PAS in the state in matters related to the wellbeing of the people.

“The decision was made without marginalizing the rights and interests of the people.

“Whatever happens, the door to negotiation is never closed. Discretion in assuring the wellbeing of the ummah will be used as a guide to achieving something better,” he said when contacted here today.

Last Saturday, Ahmad Jazlan announced that the Kelantan UMNO had decided to sever ties with PAS, effective immediately. 

He said the decision was made after a meeting between the Kelantan UMNO Political Bureau and the Kelantan PAS Dewan Harian failed to come to an understanding on cooperation under Muafakat Nasional (MN).
