This was what I told Anwar Ibrahim in London in 2010

I warned Anwar to not take us for granted. Today (meaning 2010) we may support Pakatan Rakyat. However, if Pakatan Rakyat does not deliver its promises, then we will withdraw that support and maybe even go against Pakatan Rakyat.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Today, Malaysiakini published a letter by Siti Aishah Latiff (READ BELOW). In 2010, during a forum in London — also attended by Tian Chua and Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim (then in DAP) — I told Anwar Ibrahim basically the same thing.

At that time we had launched a group called ‘Friends of Pakatan Rakyat’ and we invited Anwar to talk to Malaysians living in the UK (who brought Tian Chua and Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim along).

I told Anwar that there were many promises made back in 1998 when the Reformasi movement was first launched — but thus far Pakatan Rakyat does not seem to be fulfilling those promises.

I warned Anwar to not take us for granted. Today (meaning 2010) we may support Pakatan Rakyat. However, if Pakatan Rakyat does not deliver its promises, then we will withdraw that support and maybe even go against Pakatan Rakyat.

Later that same year (when I was in Australia) TV3 requested an interview, which I gave (it was done in Perth). I spoke openly against Anwar, and he got angry with me. That was when (in 2010) Anwar and I parted company after supporting the Reformasi movement for 12 years.

That episode was in 2010. So it is already 12 years and two general elections (third one coming soon). And, today, many people who used to be PKR and/or Anwar supporters, are now talking like how I have been doing for the last 12 years. I suppose than can only mean I am ahead of my time.

Enough nonsense PKR, do something useful for the people

Siti Aishah Latiff, Malaysiakini

In the past, I had great respect for PKR and all that it fought for.

Their reasons for Reformasi were loud and resonant and their leaders were those respected by many Malaysians.

When they won the election in 2018, most Malaysians were hopeful and looking forward to a better future.

However, their joys were very short-lived and within a few months, they (Pakatan Harapan) proved how incapable they were.

Aside from making the wrong choice for the prime minister, they also started quarrelling among themselves and showed their true colours.

For most of us, they deserved what they got because they were certainly disappointing the people.

Today, even after a bitter lesson, it seems they are still confused.

Apart from a few, most of those in PKR need to look into the mirror long and carefully at themselves.

At a time when there is still a lot to do, including helping the victims of the recent floods who are still struggling to bounce back, we find people like Rafizi and Fahmi doing something ridiculous and a waste of time.

Voicing what Zuraida Kamaruddin said during an event about orangutans, can anyone tell me what is the benefit of this?

Sure, it was a slip of the tongue on her part, but does it need such a fuss?

After all, Zuraida is one of the ministers who has done her part for the country and managed to achieve all the commodity targets last year and even surpassed some targets.

Why don’t these clowns from PKR tweet about this?

Come on PKR, get up. People are losing faith in you and are slowly, but surely, looking for alternatives.

You (PKR) will be lucky to retain your seats in the next GE but can definitely forget about winning any new seats.

You gave hope to Malaysians once, but now it is time for us, the voters, to find new hope.
