PM gives posts to 2 Umno MPs who backed Najib in pulling support for Muhyiddin
Azalina Othman Said and Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub were among those who had heeded the call for Umno MPs to revoke their support for the former prime minister.
(MalaysiaNow) – Two MPs from Umno who had backed former leader Najib Razak in revoking support for Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister have been given posts in the government and at a government-linked company.
Pengerang MP Azalina Othman Said, who recently resigned as deputy Dewan Rakyat speaker, was appointed as special adviser to the prime minister for law and human rights.
Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub meanwhile was appointed as chairman of Felcra Bhd.
Jazlan announced his withdrawal of support for Muhyiddin on Jan 9. The Kelantan Umno chief also resigned from his post as chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board after expressing his dissatisfaction with the Perikatan Nasional government.
