Three weeks after Muhyiddin Yassin resigns as PM, Covid-19 cases rise to 21,176


FMT) – The health ministry has reported 21,176 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, a spike of 1,869 cases from yesterday.

In a tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,940,950.

Sarawak once again recorded the highest number of cases with 3,734, the sixth consecutive day it has breached the 3,000 mark.

It also set a new daily case record for the state, breaking the previous record of 3,714 on Sept 6.

This was followed by Selangor with 3,595 cases, Johor (2,297), Sabah (2,246), Penang (1,939), Kedah (1,808), Perak (1,366), Kelantan (1,254), Pahang (853), Terengganu (776), Melaka (485), Kuala Lumpur (467), Negeri Sembilan (252), Perlis (77), Putrajaya (21) and Labuan (6).
