Rosli Dahlan’s mission is to wipe out fake news and fitnah

Rosli prides himself on being Bugis. To a Bugis, once you draw your keris, it cannot go back into its sheath until it tastes blood. The only way out for Lokman would be to yield, or else die. Lokman had better do what PKR did to Khalid Ibrahim, which is apologise and admit that the allegation was a lie.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

As the English say, when it rains, it pours. And, today, Lokman Noor Adam received his second blow in two days in his case against lawyer Rosli Dahlan, which you can read below.

In yesterday’s case, the judge was actually very kind to Lokman for sending him to jail for just one month. Lim Guan Eng received 18 months for the same crime.

Lokman is appealing the sentence. The problem is the court may instead enhance the sentence to six months — as one month jail is too lenient a sentence — and that would mean Lokman will be disqualified from contesting the next general election.

Anyway, fake news and fitnah have become too rampant and blatant and has become part of Malaysian political culture. Everyone lies and they lie barefaced on top of that (muka selamba).

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi lied about what transpired during the Umno supreme council meeting of 7th July 2021. He also lied that he is not doing a backdoor deal with Anwar Ibrahim for Umno to form a coalition with Pakatan Harapan.

Anwar lied about having 135 MPs who support him to become PM9. He also lied about having a copy of the RM90 million cheque that he alleged Najib Tun Razak paid PAS.

Cynthia Gabriel of C4 lied about Najib Tun Razak having dinner with Altantuya Shaariibuu on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. She also lied that Altantuya was a translator in the Malaysian-France submarine negotiations (Altantuya spoke horrendous English).

Pakatan Harapan lied about their 2018 general election manifesto.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad lied that he will serve as PM7 for only two years and in May 2020 will hand power to Anwar Ibrahim.

PKR lied that they ousted Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim because Khalid committed corrupt acts (they later had to issue a public apology for this lie).

Pakatan Harapan is lying that they can do a better job at managing the Covid-19 pandemic (the Pakatan Harapan states are doing worse and just three states are contributing to 70% of the problem).

Selangor is lying that they are not getting sufficient Covid-19 vaccines from the federal government. They are in fact hoarding the vaccines (at one time as much a one million vaccines) and are selling them at RM350 per shot to businesses.

Yes, everyone is lying. And Rosli wants to whack the daylights out of these liars. Hence Lokman Adam is going to be Rosli’s example of what happens to those who spread fake news and fitnah.

Lokman Adam fails to set aside injunction over defamatory videos against 1MDB lawyer; trial fixed for April 2022

(The Edge Markets) – After being sentenced with one month’s jail for contempt of court yesterday, former UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Lokman Noor Adam today failed to set aside an interim injunction against him for his defamatory videos against 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) lawyer Rosli Dahlan.

The decision was made by High Court judicial commissioner Datuk Mohd Arief Emran Arifin today and following that, the court granted a permanent injunction against him to prevent him from repeating the defamatory claims against Rosli.

Mohd Arief also fixed April 1 next year as a trial date for Rosli’s suit, in which he is claiming RM50 million in damages against Lokman.

Rosli was today represented by Datuk DP Naban, who is a partner in Rosli Dahlan Saravana Partnership, along with Joseph Wong.

Lokman was represented by Datuk Hariharan Tara Singh and Fakhrul Redha Paridul.

Hariharan also informed the court that his client had deleted the two videos that were complained of containing the purported defamatory statements against Rosli.

Rosli himself had also lodged a police report against Lokman with investigation pending.

The lawyer was granted an interim injunction by the High Court last April 5 against Lokman and also filed the suit against the politician.

He filed the defamation suit against Lokman for purportedly making false allegations that the lawyer had received 10% of the RM17 billion settlement by Goldman Sachs to the Malaysian government in the 1MDB matter as legal fees.

Lokman also alleged that Rosli then gave RM500 million from the RM1.7 billion in fees that he allegedly received as a kickback to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

The politician also claimed that Rosli benefitted from the RM2.83 billion AmBank settlement with 1MDB.

The lawyer had categorically denied and rebutted these as fabrications and falsehood.

Yesterday, Lokman was convicted by High Court Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah of contempt of court in threatening 1MDB witness Datuk Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin and was sentenced to one month’s jail, which he is appealing.

Following that, Justice Sequerah granted a stay of the jail sentence pending Lokman’s appeal.

On June 1, anti-corruption watchdog Center to Combat Corruption and Cronyism, led by Cynthia Gabriel, issued an unconditional and unequivocal public apology to Rosli for making similar allegations.
