Rosli Dahlan takes on Lokman Adam, and may the truth win

Rosli, a Bugis by birth, is known as a no-nonsense lawyer who will go for you all the way till the very end (like what he did in the 1MDB case). Once he has decided to finish you off, he will not give up until he brings you down. And the word ‘backdown’ is not in Rosli’s vocabulary. Lokman may have finally met his Waterloo going by the name of Rosli Dahlan. May the truth win!

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

I have been viewing Lokman Noor Adam’s nightly video broadcasts, and although he is my good friend, I have to admit that at times I shudder at how blatantly he hurls accusations at various people based on, as he himself admits, pure rumours and ‘coffee shop talk’.

There were times when Lokman said that these are just rumours (berita angin) and that you must listen only, but you must not believe these rumours. In short, Lokman sort of confesses that they are fake news, and that the listeners believe them at their own peril (let the buyer beware, as they would say).

Lokman Adam may have finally met his Waterloo going by the name of Rosli Dahlan

One ‘sensational news’ which Lokman broadcasted a few nights ago (and which Clare Rewcastle Brown of Sarawak Report picked up) is the fake news regarding 1MDB and their lawyer Rosli Dahlan.

According to Lokman, Rosli managed to recover US$3.9 billion or about RM16 billion from Goldman Sachs (and with the others such as SRC, Ambank, and so on, the total comes to roughly RM20 billion).

From this RM20 billion, Rosli’s law firm was paid 10% or RM2 billion, of which RM500 million was kicked back to Parti Pribumi Bersatu (PPBM) to fund the coming general election or GE15.

That, of course, is lie because Rosli’s firm was just paid cost, with absolutely no profit margin — and the legal fees came to just RM2.4 million, definitely not enough to cover a RM500 million kick back to PPBM.

Today, Rosli lodged a three-page comprehensive police report (which you can see below).

The police report is not only in great detail but also makes most interesting reading because it rebuts quite a number of lies that Umno, Pejuang, PKR and DAP have been spinning over the last year or so.

The police report also rebuts Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s statement that 1MDB (or Rosli) should have claimed back US$9.6 billion and not just US$3.9 billion from Goldman Sachs. Lokman repeated this in his video broadcast.

Actually, the letter from then Attorney-General Tommy Thomas to Dr Mahathir confirms they are settling for just USD1.5 billion, very far from the US$9.6 billion that Mahathir and Lokman say should be the settlement figure.

Hence the US$3.9 billion that Goldman Sachs finally settled on is far higher than the US$1.5 billion that Dr Mahathir and Tommy Thomas had agree to accept.

Rosli is determined to punish all those who spread fake news and he wants to make an example of Lokman

There are many other lies and fake news, and you can read the details in the copy of the police report below. Suffice to say, it looks like this time Lokman may have gone overboard and may be in trouble.

The allegations Lokman made are very serious because it involves accusations of corruption. Lokman is suggesting that PPBM stole RM2 billion of the taxpayers’ money and has taken a kickback of RM500 million. This time it may be impossible for Lokman to escape punishment.
