Apa susah sangat, just resign lah

So, no need to keep talking about the same thing every day but just talk without doing anything. Resign. Announce your resignation. And Muhyiddin will fall. Simple. Apa susah sangat?

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

They are making it sound very complicated. Actually, it is very simple. First of all, what is the main issue?

This issue is: there are some members of parliament amongst the 222 MPs who do not want Muhyiddin Yassin to remain as prime minister or PM8. So, they are seeking ways to oust him. And they are trying to do this through a backdoor vote of no confidence by sabotaging Budget 2021, which may or may not be voted on tomorrow.

According to Lokman Noor Adam, Muhyiddin does not have even 90 MPs with him. In fact, many argue, he did not even have 113 MPs with him when he was sworn in as prime minister on 1st March 2020.

Lokman says Muhyiddin has less than 90 MPs with him

So, does Muhyiddin have 113 MPs with him or not? Or does he have less than 90 MPs with him, as some say?

Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah says he will be boycotting Parliament tomorrow and will not be participating in the vote for Budget 2021 since the legitimacy of the prime minister and the Perikatan Nasional government has not been established yet. In other words, Muhyiddin may be an illegitimate prime minister and his government may be illegal.

Okay, let’s assume what they say is true: which is Muhyiddin has less than 113 or less than 90 MPs with him. That means between five to 25 MPs are not with the Perikatan Nasional government.

Jadi, apa susah sangat? Can these five, ten, 15 or 25 MPs from Umno, PAS, PPBM and Barisan Nasional, who are not with the Perikatan Nasional government, not announce they are resigning?

Tengku Razaleigh can start, followed by all the rest who are not with the Perikatan Nasional government and who consider it an illegal government, with Muhyiddin as an illegitimate prime minister.

Ku Li questions the legitimacy of the Perikatan Nasional government

These people say they do not support Muhyiddin and that he is an illegitimate prime minister and that the Perikatan Nasional government is an illegal government. But they still remain in this illegal government and refuse to resign.

Once these five, ten, 15 or 25 MPs from Umno, PAS, PPBM and Barisan Nasional resign, it will be proven that Muhyiddin no longer has 113 MPs with him, or in fact has less than 90 MPs. Then it will be confirmed that Muhyiddin has “lost the confidence of the majority of the House” and something will have to be done about it.

And this will further mean they do not need to pass a backdoor vote of no confidence against Muhyiddin by sabotaging Budget 2021 at the expense of the rakyat.

Once Budget 2021 is passed by parliament, it does not matter if the government changes, like what happened in 1999. In 1999, after the budget was approved, parliament was dissolved to make way for the 29th November 1999 GE — and this did not affect the budget.

This is actually such a simple issue made to appear complicated. There are some Perikatan Nasional MPs who do not support Muhyiddin and want him ousted. If all these five, ten, 15 or 25 MPs from Umno, PAS, PPBM and Barisan Nasional call for a press conference and announce they are resigning from the government with immediate effect, Muhyiddin will fall.

So, no need to keep talking about the same thing every day but just talk without doing anything. Resign. Announce your resignation. And Muhyiddin will fall. Simple. Apa susah sangat?
