MACC report lodged against Guan Eng over RM6.61bil in direct negotiations

(Star) – Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) has lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) urging an investigation into allegations that former finance minister Lim Guan Eng had awarded projects worth RM6.61bil through direct negotiations during his tenure.

PCM vice president R. Muralitharan said he was acting on current Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz’s release of information on the direct negotiation in Parliament on Monday (Aug 24).

“I urge the MACC to investigate Lim over suspicion of abuse of power in approving the 101 projects by direct negotiations.

“They should also investigate if the companies were qualified, and also the status of the projects,” said Muralitharan at the MACC headquarters here Tuesday (Aug 25).

Tengku Zafrul had told Dewan Rakyat that Lim approved a total of 101 projects worth RM6.61bil through direct negotiations under the Pakatan Harapan administration.

Lim replied that the tenders had been approved by the then Cabinet.
