Umno Terengganu wants to wipe out PAS in Terengganu

And let’s come out with a new policy that only Sarawak people contest in Sarawak, Sabah people contest in Sabah, Terengganu people contest in Terengganu, and so on, so that we can ensure only Selangor born-and-bred contest in Selangor and “outsiders” are kept out of Selangor. I am 100% in favour of that.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

The Chairman of Pakatan Harapan Terengganu, Raja Dato’ Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad, is attacking my brother, Raja Dato’ Idris Raja Kamarudin, and me.

PAN’s “liberal playboy” Raja Bahrin wants “outsiders” kept out of Terengganu while his people are contesting all over Malaysia in places they do not belong

Umno Terengganu’s Ahmad Said wants Umno to contest all 40 seats in Terengganu on a four-corner contest with PAS, PPBM and PAN-PKR in the next general election and take back the state from PAS

Umno Terengganu is also attacking my brother. Basically, the issue is my brother is an “outsider” who has been given an important position in the state of Terengganu.

In Terengganu, that is considered a “crime”. Positions in the state must be given to only those born-and-bred in Terengganu and not to “outsiders”.

Yes, my brother and I are not Terengganu born (although my children are). We were both born in the UK and have Right of Abode (RoA) in the UK. (Those born in Melaka and Penang before 1957 also have RoA in the UK — just like those born in Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak before 1963, and those born in Brunei, Hong Kong, etc., before a certain date).

And we are Kerabat Selangor or members of the Selangor Royal Family (just like Raja Bahrin is Kerabat Perak and not Kerabat Terengganu — which is why he is “Raja” and not “Tengku”).

It looks like Raja Bahrin and Umno Terengganu are united in their stand that those NOT born in Terengganu, or who are “outsiders”, should be banned from holding any position in the state.

PAN’s Khalid Samad should get out of Selangor and go back to his hometown to contest the next general election

Actually, back in the 1970s, Aziz Ibrahim, the Chairman of SEDC Terengganu, faced the same problem. He was born in Kedah and Umno Terengganu hated him, even though he was doing a great job. So, this is not a new thing and is in the “anak Terengganu” DNA.

If you are Malay and are NOT born in Terengganu, they will whack you. But if you are a foreigner, Chinese or Indian and are not born in Terengganu, the Terengganu Malays have no issues with you. This hatred for “outsiders” applies only to fellow-Malays.

Raja Bahrin and his Umno buddies are so concerned about whether you are born in Terengganu or not. And, if you are not, then you are a pariah.

In fact, Raja Bahrin’s father is from Perak. Hence, as an “anak Perak”, Raja Bahrin should go contest in Perak, especially since he hates His Highness the Sultan of Terengganu and says nasty things about the Sultan.

Lim Guan Eng not only contested outside his hometown but even became the Penang Chief Minister and Raja Bahrin did not say a word because Guan Eng is Chinese and not Malay

Well, if where you were born is such an issue, why are people from Raja Bahrin’s own party, PAN, contesting all over the place? Take Khalid Samad as one example. Is he an “anak Selangor”? He is not from Selangor. And many other people from Pakatan Harapan are also not “anak Selangor”. Yet they contest in Selangor and become a wakil rakyat (ADUN or ahli parlimen) in Selangor.

Khalid Samad should not contest in Selangor. In the next general election, he should go “home” and contest in his home state. The same goes for those from PKR and DAP. Anwar Ibrahim, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Lim Guan Eng, and many more from Pakatan Harapan all contest in places they were NOT born in.

And what about Umno people? Are all of them contesting in the place they were born?

Ahmad Said wants Umno Terengganu to abandon Muafakat Nasional and take back Terengganu from PAS

Actually, the reason Raja Bahrin and his Umno cohorts are attacking my brother is because they want to run down the PAS President, Tok Guru Abdul Hadi Awang, and the Terengganu Menteri Besar, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar. They are looking for issues to attack PAS and this seems to be the only issue they have — my brother.

Umno Terengganu feels that in the next general election they can win at least one-third of the seats (like last time during GE14) while Bersatu or PPBM can also win another one-third — leaving PAS with only one-third of the seats. Umno Terengganu will then abandon PAS and form a new state government with Bersatu.

Umno Terengganu’s hatred for PAS is too deep and too long that it cannot go away in just a few months. It will need at least one generation (or more). Umno Terengganu would rather go to bed with Bersatu than with PAS (or even go to bed with Raja Bahrin’s PAN).

Umno Terengganu’s hatred for PAS is too deep and too long

Umno Terengganu wants to contest ALL eight parliament seats and 32 state seats in the next general election (total 40 seats). That means Terengganu will see a four-corner contest with PAS, Umno, PPBM and PAN-PKR all fighting over 40 seats (maybe with another 59 state-parliament seats in Kelantan also facing four-corner contests).

What PAS should do is to NOT dissolve the Terengganu State Assembly at the same time when Muhyiddin Yassin dissolves parliament over the next few months or one year. The Terengganu State Assembly need not be dissolved until mid-2023 and there is no legal reason it has to be dissolved now. Let PAS rule the state for a full term.

Kelantan should also do the same. Then the four “oil producing” states of Sarawak, Sabah, Terengganu and Kelantan can hold separate state elections from the federal or parliamentary elections.
