TYT’S PRIVATE SECRETARY’S STATEMENT FALSE

The statement purportedly issued by Abinan bin Asli, the private secretary to the Sabah TYT, Tun Juhar bin Mahiruddin on the latter’s behalf is patently false.

Our stand is simple, the matter is now before the Court and the TYT, as a former lawyer, should have known better than to comment on a matter that is now sub-judice.

I suppose they wish that the people of Sabah is so ignorant and stupid that events that led to the dissolution of Sabah State Assembly occurred for no valid reason and do not make sense.

Do they also expect the people to believe that the meeting between the TYT, the Minister of Home Affairs (Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin), the PM’s Political Secretary (Datuk Nardin) and others on the morning on the 29th of July 2020 informing the TYT of Tan Sri Musa Aman’s readiness to have an audience with TYT to present the 33 statutory declarations (SDs) and the TYT’s request to see the original copies of the said SDs, did not take place?

Perhaps they also want the rakyat to believe that the Press Conference held by Musa and 32 other ADUNs supporting him on the evening of the 29th of July 2020, which appeared on all National online newspapers and television during prime time was so insignificant that neither Warisan President Shafie Apdal or the TYT knew anything about it.

Is the TYT so naïve that he did not know the reason behind us wanting to seek an audience to present to him the original 33 SDs as requested by him earlier in the morning on morning the July 29,2020?

The TYT mentioned on the evening of July 29, 2020 that it was too late and suggested to Datuk Osman Jamal, the representative of the 33 ADUNs, to present it the next day.

Hence, we abided and Osman went to the Istana for the purpose of the scheduled meeting at 9.00am on the July 30, 2020 to present the SDs to the TYT officially through his private secretary which was agreed by the TYT the night before. I suppose this meeting is just a figment of our own imagination.

Is it merely a coincidence that Shafie met the TYT requesting a dissolution (because he realized he had lost his government) minutes before Osman representing the 33 presented the original SDs?

I suppose Abinan wants the people to believe that it is good practice under the Sabah Constitution for the TYT to receive Shafie at such a late hour on the evening of July 29, 2020, then grant Shafie another audience first thing the following morning just right before the scheduled appointment to meet Osman but then gave his approval for the dissolution of the assembly without even considering the constitutional rights and position of the 33 ADUNs.

I am compelled to give the above chronology of events that unfolded between July 29 to 30th leading to the dissolution because the truth must be told and justice must prevail.

At the very least, the TYT should have accorded the 33 ADUNs an audience, interviewed them and satisfy any doubt if any element of duress was involved.

The TYT should have accorded us, the 33 ADUNs the same courtesy that the Agong did to the 222 Members of Parliament during the Pakatan Harapan power struggle in March this year.
