Why must Umno and PAS Terengganu engage in a pissing contest?

PAS vice-president and Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said PAS is prepared to reconsider its position regarding defending six of the parliamentary seats it won in the 14th general election in May 2018.

In response, one-time Menteri Besar Ahmad Said said Umno will contest all eight parliament seats and 32 state seats in the next general election or GE15.

What is wrong with these people? Why do they need to engage in a pissing contest and quarrel like school children through the media? The more they quarrel in public the more the media would carry their statements because the media just loves to see politicians quarrel.

I was born in Terengganu and they have a saying in Terengganu, gong telajok. In English that means an ego too large for their head. Kan Umno and PAS have already set up a machinery to handle seat negotiations? So why the need to make statements challenging one another in public?

The reason Barisan Nasional and PAS lost the previous general election was because they were divided. And that resulted in Pakatan Harapan winning the election. Do they want to, again, fight one another and give the country to Pakatan Harapan?

I would have thought the older you are the wiser you get. But it looks like we younger generation have more political acumen than these so-called older people. Can’t we discuss matters related to seat distribution behind closed doors, like they should?
