Pakatan and Warisan are a party of frogs, anyway

The Pakatan Harapan and Warisan people are the last people on earth who should be complaining about party hopping. Whatever the reason — for noble or for personal reasons — the fact remains they hopped parties. The reason is irrelevant and not important. A thief is still a thief even if he or she stole to feed a sick mother.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Shafie mahu laporan cubaan beli wakil rakyat Sabah disiasat

Pujuk wakil rakyat yakini parti lain tidak salah, kata Bung Moktar

Over the last 300 years, hundreds of British politicians have switched parties or “defected”, as what they would say in Malaysia. The most famous amongst them, of course, was Sir Winston Churchill, who later went on to become Britain’s Prime Minister…twice.

There is nothing illegal about that, or even immoral. If one cannot rise up the ranks of a political party in one party, you jump to another party that allows you a better opportunity to get ahead. People do this all the time in the corporate or academic world. Sometimes you move sideways to move up.

Take Mukhriz Mahathir, as one example. He is a dismal failure in Umno. He lost the contest for Umno Youth Leader in 2009 and then the contest for one of the Umno Vice Presidents’ post in 2013. If you know Mukhriz personally you will know he does not have what it takes to become a leader. For that matter Khairy Jamaluddin is way ahead of Mukhriz.

Mukhriz was a failure in Umno so Mahathir needed to form a new party for him

If Mukhriz was named Mukhriz Abdullah instead of Mukhriz Mahathir, he would be a totally unknown personality today. Even then the “Bin Mahathir” surname is not able to make him an Umno leader of significance, let alone PM8 (or even PM9 or PM10). Hence the only option for him is to jump to a new party if he wants to rise up. And what better party to jump to than his own father’s party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu or PBBM.

Basically, Mukhriz abandoned Umno because he was suffering a dead end in his political career. And Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, as well, hopped to a new party, albeit his own party, because he was similarly facing a dead end in Umno.

Mahathir’s excuse, of course, is that Umno is corrupt. Hence, he needed to form a new party to fight Umno and bring it down. Which Umno is Mahathir talking about? Umno “Lama” or Umno “Baru”?

Mahathir, Anwar and Daim corrupted Umno in the 1980s

Mahathir corrupted Umno soon after he took over in 1981 and after Anwar Ibrahim joined in 1982. The three people who corrupted Umno are Mahathir, Anwar and Tun Daim Zainuddin. They robbed Malaysia as if the taxpayers’ money was their grandfather’s money.

Yes, Mahathir, Anwar and Daim should be put against the wall and executed by firing squad. That’s what they would do in China…bless the Chinese.

And these are the three people Pakatan Harapan chose as their leaders.

So Umno per se is not corrupt. Mahathir’s Umno is corrupt. Mahathir is estimated to have “made” RM100 billion “for Umno”, kononnya. But then only about RM1 billion can be accounted for. What happened to the balance of the RM100 billion?

Faces of nepotism, corruption and abuse of power

According to Anwar, Mahathir stole those billions, which is supposed to have been Umno’s money. Itu bukan saya cakap. Itu apa yang Anwar cakap.

So, yeah, Mahathir left Umno and started a new party so that he could destroy Umno because Umno is corrupt, kononnya. That’s like a prostitute condemning a whore. No, Mahathir left Umno because his son Mukhriz was facing a dead end in Umno. They needed a new party to help Mukhriz rise up to the post of Prime Minister.

Shafie Apdal did the same. In Umno he was facing a dead end. So be hopped to a new party, Parti Warisan Sabah, so that he can see his political career flourish. And now Pakatan Harapan and Parti Warisan Sabah are screaming about party hopping or jumping parties as if switching parties is a criminal or immoral act.

Many PKR leaders are ex-Umno people who abused their power and screwed the taxpayers’ money when in power

Hello, even the PKR people were originally from another party. All the Parti Amanah or PAN people are “frogs” as well who jumped from PAS to DAP’s PAN. Even the DAP people were originally communists (or maybe they still are).
