Tian Chua defies call to quit from GLC post, says PKR

(FMT) – PKR vice-president Tian Chua has yet to respond to the party’s directive to step down as the Malaysia Productivity Corporation chairman, the party’s secretary-general revealed.

Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this was despite a letter, which also warned him of disciplinary action should he refuse to resign, sent to the former Batu MP two weeks ago.

“The letter was sent to Tian Chua but he has yet to give me an answer.

“However, while there was no time frame given, we would like (his response) immediately,” he said when met in Parliament this afternoon.

But Saifuddin said the party was not pushing him for a response.

Tian Chua was appointed to the post by the Pakatan Harapan government on April 26, 2019.

The PH government, however, collapsed earlier this year following Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s resignation as prime minister and PPBM’s subsequent pull-out from the coalition.

Recently, a poster featuring former PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is the current international trade and industries minister under the Perikatan Nasional government, emerged to promote the launch of MPC’s productivity report.
