It was about Mukhriz for PM all along since 2003

The truth, however, was that Najib did not help Mukhriz to become PM so Najib had to be ousted. And, today, that has proven true. Pak Lah would not help Mukhriz become PM. Najib would not help Mukhriz become PM. Anwar would not help Mukhriz become PM. Shafie Apdal has agreed to help Mukhriz become PM. So Shafie will be the next prime minister or PM9.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Back in 2015, Malaysia Today wrote that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is fighting tooth and nail to bring down Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak NOT because of the 1MBD issue, as he pretends, but because Najib is not helping Mukhriz to become the next prime minister.

Of course, at that time the Pakatan Harapan supporters or Pakatuns did not believe this. They really believed that Mahathir, who cost Malaysia RM200 billion (which today is worth RM460 billion) when he was PM4, was just trying to “save” Malaysia from “thieves” (or what Mahathir calls “kleptocrats”).

Mahathir ousted Pak Lah because Khairy was an obstacle to Mukhriz

However, Malaysia Today told you that the “deal” Mahathir made with Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi a.k.a. Pak Lah in 2002 was that Khairy Jamaluddin would be removed to allow Mukhriz to come up. When Pak Lah refused to remove Khairy, hence blocking Mukhriz from coming up, Mahathir began his attacks in June 2006 and by early 2009 Pak Lah was finished.

Then Mahathir made a “deal” with Najib. But in 2009 Mukhriz lost the contest for Umno Youth Leader and in 2013 he lost a second time in the contest for an Umno Vice President’s seat. Hence, in 2013, Mahathir decided that Najib must go. But he needed an excuse to start attacking Najib.

In 2014, Mahathir found this excuse: 1MDB. Maybe 1MDB was facing a cashflow problem but Mahathir exaggerated the story and accused Najib of stealing RM42 billion of 1MDB’s money. Then Mahathir called 1MDB the biggest financial scandal in world history (far bigger than Mahathir’s RM460 billion scandal or Enron’s RM300 billion scandal).

Told you so, it’s all about Mukhriz as PM, says Najib

(FMT) – Former prime minister Najib Razak has sarcastically congratulated Anwar Ibrahim for finally succeeding, after 22 years of struggle, at getting back to his old position of deputy prime minister.

In turn, he accused Anwar’s former nemesis Dr Mahathir Mohamad of plotting to ensure that his son Mukhriz would eventually become prime minister.

Anwar was dismissed as deputy prime minister by Mahathir in 1997 and expelled from Umno, where he was deputy president, in a party power struggle. His expulsion led to the Reformasi movement to bring down the Barisan Nasional government, which culminated in the 2018 general election victory by Pakatan Harapan.

Najib’s sarcastic comment was made in response to an announcement by Mahathir on the proposed leadership of a new Pakatan Harapan government.

Mahathir said several opposition leaders had agreed to propose Anwar and Mukhriz as candidates to be deputy prime ministers, with Warisan president Shafie Apdal as candidate to be prime minister.

Mahathir decided to oust Najib in 2013 after Mukhriz lost the party contest a second time

Najib said: “PH Minus (without PKR) unanimously backed Shafie Apdal to be PM, Anwar as DPM1 and Mukhriz as DPM2.

“Didn’t I tell you so?

“Any route taken by Mahathir will end with Mukhriz becoming deputy prime minister and finally as PM.”

He said Mahathir had been angry with him since the Umno elections at the end of 2013 because he did not support Mukhriz’s campaign to be elected as an Umno vice-president. Najib said his reason for not doing so was because Mukhriz had then recently become menteri besar of Kedah.

Shafie’s job as PM9 is to make sure that Mukhriz becomes PM10

“In any case, congratulations are also due to Anwar, after 22 years of street protests since 1998, he succeeded in capturing his original position as DPM.”

In a swipe at Anwar’s choice of political allies, he also said “Who asked you to trust DAP and their minions in Amanah? Weren’t you betrayed by them? Can you still trust DAP? Ask PAS”, making a reference to the dissolution of Pakatan Rakyat after a falling out between DAP and PAS in 2017.
