3.7 million demonstrated in France to defend insulting Prophet Muhammad while Pakatan Harapan goes the opposite direction

In May 2015, an estimated 3.7 million people, the French President and Prime Minister included, marched on the streets of France to defend the right to insult Prophet Muhammad. The right to insult Prophet Muhammad is what democracy, civil liberties, freedom of speech, freedom of choice and freedom of expression are all about.
Three years later, in May 2018, Pakatan Harapan came to power against the backdrop that the country has now entered into a new era of the ‘New Malaysia’ or ‘Malaysia Baru’ where democracy, civil liberties, freedom of speech, freedom of choice and freedom of expression are now guaranteed and the truth can no longer be silenced.
Suddenly, 15 months later, the Chinese and Indians are up in arms and are saying that democracy, civil liberties, freedom of speech, freedom of choice and freedom of expression should no longer be allowed. And they want Dr Zakir Naik silenced and kicked out of the country for expressing his views and opinion.
Hence ends the ‘New Malaysia’ so proudly announced back in May 2018. While the freedom to insult Prophet Muhammad is defended to the death in France, in ‘New Malaysia’ you can only do what was allowed in the ‘Old Malaysia’ of Barisan Nasional.
Yes, ‘Malaysia Baru’, born May 2018, died August 2019. Pakatan Harapan now realises that talk is easy but doing is not that easy. Much of what they promised has crashed and burned. Nothing they said they are going to do can be done after all.
Finally, ‘Malaysia Baru’ has been abandoned and we are going back to ‘Malaysia Lama’ where people like Zakir Naik are silenced and kicked out of the country because the truth hurts and the Chinese and Indians cannot stand the truth.
