Kit Siang asks Najib what he asked Mahathir, Daim, Anwar and Rafidah

All Najib needs to do is to keep quiet like what Mahathir, Daim, Anwar, Rafidah and the 100 other people have done. After this Kit Siang will look for another person to harass. Kit Siang is like a dog chasing a car. When the car stops moving the dog will also stop chasing. Never does a dog bite a car. It just barks and chases. Woof, woof!

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Lim Kit Siang is obsessed with two things — Anwar Ibrahim becoming Prime Minister and 1MDB. This is all Kit Siang seems to talk about nowadays.

Anwar said there is written agreement with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that he will be taking over as Prime Minister on or before May 2020. Can Anwar show us a copy of that agreement?

After all, Anwar claims he has all sorts of evidence (six boxes to be exact) of Mahathir’s corrupt acts (which he has been keeping for the last 21 years since 1998), and he has evidence that Najib Tun Razak paid Abdul Hadi Awang and PAS a cheque for RM90 million, and so on. So, surely Anwar has a copy of that written agreement which he and Mahathir signed stating that Mahathir will hand over the post of Prime Minister to him on or before May 2020.

Kit Siang, on the other hand, says if Mahathir does not hand over the post of Prime Minister to Anwar on or before May 2020 he is going to retire and will not be contesting GE15. Kit Siang should not tempt fate with his “over my dead body” promise. Kit Siang might just have to “retire” in GE15 if his mulut masin, as the Malays would say.

Najib just needs to let the court do the talking

Kit Siang has also demanded that Najib reply to Al Jazeera’s latest documentary regarding 1MDB. Maybe Kit Siang did not notice that the SRC trial is ongoing and this will be followed by other trials after that (all 1MDB related). So why does Najib need to layan Kit Siang? Just wait for the outcome of the court case. Susah apa?

There is something wrong with this old Chinaman. Najib’s trial is still going on and this matter is being discussed in open court and yet Kit Siang demands that Najib reply to Al Jazeera’s documentary on 1MDB. Is there not a law regarding contempt of court if you make statements condemning the court or judge or something like that?

Why does Najib need to do what Kit Siang demands? First of all, even if Najib denies what Al Jazeera said, Kit Siang will say Najib is lying and that he does not believe what Najib is saying. Will Kit Siang accept whatever Najib says or will Kit Siang reject it? Kit Siang will not accept whatever comes out of Najib’s mouth so why is he asking Najib to reply?

Tak pahamlah apek tua ni!

Secondly, in the past Kit Siang has demanded the same thing from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Tun Daim Zainuddin, and Anwar Ibrahim. In fact, he even said the same thing to Rafidah Aziz and many other ex-Umno leaders before this. And today Kit Siang is saying it to Najib.

So, there is really no need for Najib to layan Kit Siang. For the last 40 years Kit Siang has been demanding for this person and that person to reply to this, that and the other. Najib is not the first. He is probably the 100th person who Kit Siang has demanded that they reply to whatever allegations have been made.

Woof, woof!

(MMO) – Datuk Seri Najib Razak has to clarify the allegations made against him in relation to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal as revealed in Al Jazeera’s 101 East interview this morning, Lim Kit Siang said today.

The veteran DAP lawmaker said the former prime minister has to make a statement on the revelation that there was no corruption investigation because a former attorney general (AG) during Najib’s tenure had rejected a recommendation for one.

“There are many things which the former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak should clarify about the monstrous and heinous 1MDB scandal and other mega corruption scandals… but there are three things which he should not avoid as they had just cropped up in the past two days,” Lim said in a statement.

He pointed to the assertion by lawyer Datuk Lim Chee Wee, a former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) review panel member who told Al Jazeera that the oversight panel had been under “enormous pressure” in 2015 when the scandal broke, and that he believed it came from the PM then.

The lawyer also claimed Najib was not probed for corruption because an AG who remained unnamed in the interview, rejected the MACC panel’s call for one.

Sabahan Tan Sri Gani Patail was abruptly let go as AG just three months shy of his 60th birthday and mandatory retirement in 2015. He was replaced by former judge Tan Sri Mohamad Apandi Ali whose stint ended when Pakatan Harapan defeated Barisan Nasional (BN) in the general election last year.

The Iskandar Puteri MP also noted Al Jazeera’s interview with carpet merchant Deepak Jaikishan who was closely associated with Najib and described the latter’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor as the “de facto prime minister” when BN was in power.

Lim said Najib, who is now in Sandakan to campaign for PBS in the parliamentary by-election, should answer his questions before the electorate.

“Let Najib throw light on these three items in his ‘Malu Apa Bossku’ visit to Sandakan today, apart from a multitude of other matters in connection with the 1MDB and other mega scandals.”

Lim said Najib should also respond to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s first anniversary speech as the prime minister since Pakatan Harapan took over the government.

The Al Jazeera programme titled “Malaysia: Power and Corruption” premiered at 6.30am today.
