FROM THE MACC FILES Part 3: Nazri played a leading role in the Penang Undersea Tunnel deal

DAP in Crisis: The Penang Undersea Tunnel Corruption Scandal

In Zarul Ahmad’s signed statement to the MACC on 12th January 2018, he said he was arrested three days earlier for bribing then Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and a number of other people. The most important aspect of this entire statement is that Zarul Ahmad not only did not deny the charge and admitted he bribed Guan Eng, but he said be bribed a number of other people as well.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

First of all, a number of readers asked why Zarul Ahmad Mohd Zulkifli’s ‘signed’ statement to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) of 12th January 2018 is unsigned. Well, it is not only unsigned but other personal details such as IC number, home address, mobile number, date of birth, etc., have been redacted. This is to avoid breaching data protection laws which may result in Google, Facebook and Twitter blocking this page or suspending our account.

Of course, Pakatan Harapan people do not respect these privacy laws and they would publish documents with the personal details un-redacted. But then Pakatan Harapan has always had two sets of laws, one for themselves and another for others. These documents are, however, classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

The entire file of almost 200 pages was given to us by our deep throats within the MACC. These people more or less have had enough with politicians using the MACC to get rid of their political enemies. The last straw was when they tried to use the MACC to slander PAS and accuse that party of receiving a RM90 million donation (or bribe) from Umno (or Najib Tun Razak).

Anyway, in Zarul Ahmad Mohd Zulkifli’s signed statement to the MACC on 12th January 2018, he said he was arrested three days earlier for bribing then Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and a number of other people. The most important aspect of this entire statement is that Zarul Ahmad not only did not deny the charge and admitted he bribed Guan Eng, but he said be bribed a number of other people as well.
