Zahid may be arrested and charged tomorrow

(The Star) – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) has been issued with a notice yet again to present himself to anti-graft authorities on Thursday (Oct 18).

The former deputy prime minister and Umno president was issued with the notice by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers around 1.45pm Wednesday (Oct 17).

He has been asked to be present at the MACC headquarters here in Putrajaya at around 3pm.

Umno officials confirmed that the graft investigators have summoned their president.

He has been called four times to answer questions on the alleged misappropriation of Yayasan Akal Budi funds.

The Umno president is the chairman of the foundation set up by his family to help eradicate poverty and provide Islamic education.

MACC is investigating claims that RM800,000 belonging to the foundation was used to pay off credit card bills.

He was first called up on the Yayasan Akal Budi case on July 3.

Last week saw Dr Ahmad Zahid returning three times to be interrogated by MACC investigators.
