Why is Kit Siang absolving the MACC of Beng Hock’s murder?

Back in 2011, Kit Siang said the MACC must take responsibility not just for Beng Hock’s murder but for the murder of Customs Department officer Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed as well. Today, Kit Siang says the MACC is not to be blamed but Najib who was Prime Minister then must take the blame.

Lim Kit Siang and Najib Tun Razak are engaged in a public debate regarding Teoh Beng Hock’s murder.

Kit Siang said, since Najib was the Prime Minister on 16th July 2009 (he took over as Prime Minister three months before that) then the Prime Minister must personally take the blame for the murder even if he did not personally murder Beng Hock.

What about the murder of 500 other people over the last 30 years, all who also died while in custody? Should the three Prime Ministers over the last 30 years (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib) be personally held responsible for these 500 murders as well?
