For 44 years money from the Malay states has been diverted to the Chinese states

In the end the more than RM2.5 trillion in revenue that the Federal Government earned was used to develop the ‘Chinese’ states while the ‘Malay’ states of Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang have been abandoned and are the poorest states in Malaysia.

Terengganu receives slightly over RM1 billion a year in oil revenue. Sabah and Sarawak combined receive RM2.25 billion a year. Kelantan gets nothing.

Over the last 44 years since 1974, Petronas is said to have earned more than RM2.5 trillion in revenue from Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu.

Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak are the poorest states in Malaysia.

In 2016, Terengganu had a median monthly household gross income of RM4,694, which was lower than the national average of RM5,228. Sarawak and Sabah fared worse with a median gross income per household of RM4,163 and RM4,110 respectively. (The Edge Markets)

By comparison, in Selangor the median monthly household gross income is RM7,225, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur RM9,073, Putrajaya RM8,275 and RM5,409 for Penang.

The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) would have opened up Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang and would have allowed these Malay states to develop. Considering that the Federal Government has stolen almost RM1 trillion from Terengganu since 1974 (and we do not know how much was stolen from Kelantan) and only gave back RM40 billion to the state, why can’t the ECRL be built?

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad complains about the high cost of the ECRL. A few billion is nothing to help Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang to develop after stealing RM1 trillion from Terengganu and giving back only RM40 billion.

In the end the more than RM2.5 trillion in revenue that the Federal Government earned was used to develop the ‘Chinese’ states while the ‘Malay’ states of Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang have been abandoned and are the poorest states in Malaysia.

If the Council of Eminent Persons is really sincere about doing their job then they should recommend that the Federal Government give back more oil money to the Malay states instead of taking the money from the Malay states to give to the Chinese states.

And they should start with the ECRL so that these states can begin to prosper. Why is Mahathir so against the Malay states and has never wanted to help these states since he became Prime Minister in 1981? Mahathir really seems to hate Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang.
