MACC officers seize documents from DBKL HQ

On May 30, Kepong Member of Parliament Lim Lip Eng said MACC had begun investigating DBKL over the land controversy after Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh’s lodged a report.

(NST) – Five Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers are currently at Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Menara 1 to seize documents linked to the sale of 64 lots of DBKL land between 2014 and 2018.

A source told the New Straits Times that the team arrived at 2pm and is now in the Economic Planning and Development Department watching its staff sorting out the documents.

He said a one-tonne lorry to ferry the documents back to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya is on the way.

He said that two more officers are also coming, adding that they are unclear as to how long the confiscation process will be taking place.

On May 30, Kepong Member of Parliament Lim Lip Eng said MACC had begun investigating DBKL over the land controversy after Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh’s lodged a report.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was Federal Territories Minister when the land sales happened.

Lim was previously quoted saying that the 64 plots of land – believed to be worth RM4.28 billion – was sold to the private sector between 2013 to 2018 without an open tender process.
