(Malaysia Outlook) – Prime Minister Najib Razak expects the opposition to use the same dirty tactics of spreading fake news in the coming general election.

He added that they would “hurl” something unexpected to make the people angry and hate Barisan Nasional (BN).

“Remember that the opposition only holds on to one principle, which is ‘If you cannot convince them, confuse them’,” he said in a blog posting following a meeting with pro-BN social media activists.

“Their dirty tactics are very clear, if they cannot convince voters to believe their empty promises or sweet talk, their modus operandi is to confuse the people to create distrust and anger towards the Barisan Nasional government.”

“We have long been in ‘defensive mode’. Enough. It is now time to attack!”
