Anwar made PAS into what it is today

Game

In December 2013, Anwar organised secret talks in London with Umno to come to some sort of agreement on a unity government. But it cannot just be PKR and Umno. It must also include PAS. So Anwar asked Hadi to attend the talks. Hadi, however, refused to attend and the talks collapsed. PKR then accused PAS of betraying the opposition by plotting to do a deal with Umno. And that was the beginning of the end for the opposition.

PAKATAN’S GAME OF THRONES

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Before I say what I want to say, let me first point out a historical trivia that will demonstrate my point.

Fulgencio Batista was Cuba’s President for almost seven years from 10th March 1952 to 1st January 1959.

Dwight D. Eisenhower was the 34th President of the United States for eight years from 20th January 1953 to 20th January 1961.

The Cuban Revolution went on for five-and-a-half years from 26th July 1953 to 1st January 1959.

Fulgencio Batista

Batista was a bitch but he was America’s bitch

Now, the reason Batista managed to stay in office for almost seven years was because America kept him in power. And the reason America kept him in power is because Batista opposed Castro’s Marxist army and anyone who is anti-Communist is America’s friend. Basically Batista was America’s puppet and Eisenhower, who knew that Batista was downright corrupt, said, “Batista may be a bitch but he is our bitch.”

So that is what politics is all about. You may be a bitch but as long as you are my bitch then I support you. And that was why Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad brought Anwar Ibrahim into Umno in 1982 (so that Anwar could become Mahathir’s bitch by keeping PAS in check). And that was why Tun Daim Zainuddin asked Mahathir to make Anwar the Finance Minister in 1991 (so that Anwar could become their bitch and cover their backs if the US$10 billion FOREX scandal explodes).

anwar fadzil noor

Anwar became Mahathir’s bitch in 1982 and then Fadzil’s bitch in 1998

When Anwar got sacked from Umno in September 1998, PAS saw this as a golden opportunity to exploit the situation and make Anwar their bitch. So Ustaz Fadzil Mohd Noor went running to Anwar’s house to pledge support for him. DAP stayed out at first to see how things would go and did not get so excited in the beginning. On 4th April 1999, Anwar’s new party, Parti Keadilan Nasional (PKN), was launched and still DAP played cool. It was not until 14 months later when PAS, PKR and PRM agreed to form an opposition coalition that DAP decided PAS may be a bitch but then PAS would become their bitch.

DAP knew that Anwar was a problem and that most of the problems facing the country (Islamisation of Malaysia and the issue of Chinese education in particular) were all Anwar’s doing. It was also Anwar who started the new culture of ‘money politics’ in Umno, another term for corruption and vote buying. Racism was also Anwar’s platform when he contested against Suhaimi Kamaruddin for the Umno Youth leadership and Operasi Lalang was also because of Anwar playing up the race card regarding Chinese schools.

Nik Aziz Anwar

Anwar was a useful bitch to DAP because he could control PAS, something DAP was unable to do

Yes, Anwar was not only a bitch but he was a mother of all bitches. But then as long as he was going to be DAP’s bitch that was all that mattered. And, what is even more important is that PAS is a worse bitch and not to be trusted as far as DAP was concerned (because PAS refuses to abandon their Islamic State and Islamic Shariah laws agenda). However, with Anwar around, even how much PAS may be a bitch, Anwar would be able to make PAS their (DAP’s and PKR’s) bitch.

Does that now explain how DAP was able to work with Anwar and by extension with PAS? Yes, Anwar and PAS are super-bitches. As Karpal Singh said, Anwar has been a source of problems for Malaysia since the beginning and that he should taubat (repent). Karpal also whacked PAS on their Islamic agenda and said PAS can implement Islam ‘over his dead body’. It was apparent that Karpal was downright fed up with Anwar and PAS. So why did DAP bother to stay friends with them?

As I said, Anwar and PAS may be super-bitches but then they are DAP’s bitches. And that is all that matters.

Then Anwar decided that PKR should no longer remain DAP’s bitch. Anwar also knew that PAS has had enough with being DAP’s bitch. When DAP tried to force PAS to support the ouster of Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, PAS refused. If PKR and DAP want to oust Khalid they can go ahead but not with the support of PAS.

Anwar Azmin

Because of PAS, Azmin instead of Dr Wan Azizah became the new Selangor Menteri Besar

So PKR and DAP then plotted the ‘Kajang Move’ but without the involvement of PAS. When Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail won the Kajang by-election they pushed for her to replace Khalid as Selangor Menteri Besar and again PAS refused to get involved. Instead, PAS listened to what HRH the Sultan of Selangor wanted and proposed three names as the candidate for Selangor Menteri Besar, Azmin Ali one of them.

Pakatan Rakyat was supposed to work on the basis of consensus and the principle of agree to disagree. But DAP violated that and when a consensus could not be reached DAP still wanted it done. And when DAP denied PAS its right to disagree, PAS said ‘go to hell’ and Abdul Hadi Awang pushed for the Private Member’s Bill for the Shariah Amendments (a.k.a. RUU355) in Parliament. If they can tell PAS to go jump in the lake by launching the Kajang Move and by sacking Khalid as Selangor Menteri Besar why can’t PAS also do the same regarding the Shariah?

Anwar knew that Pakatan Rakyat was not going to last. As the Malays say: retak menunggu belah (a crack waiting to become a split). The Pakatan marriage was heading for the rocks and back in 2013 Anwar already knew that. The Kajang Move, the Selangor Menteri Besar controversy, the Shariah amendment crisis, etc., were merely excuses to get a divorce. A divorce was imminent and the real reason for the divorce is because PAS was no longer willing to be DAP’s bitch and allow DAP to do what it wants against the principle of consensus and allow DAP to violate the agree to disagree agreement.

In short it had turned into a sham marriage where DAP dictates what happens while PAS wanted the original marriage vows to be honoured and reinstated (agreement by consensus and principle of agree to disagree). And Anwar knew the strained marriage cannot last too long if DAP continues to buat perangai and act like they are in charge and treat Pakatan Harapan as a DAP-led Pakatan Harapan and not a Pakatan Harapan of equal status and equal partnership.

Saifuddin Manchester

Anwar sent Saifuddin to represent PKR in the Umno-PKR-PAS ‘unity government’ talks in London

In December 2013, just before the marriage went on to the rocks (Lee Chin Cheh triggered the Kajang Move on 27th January 2014 with his resignation and thereafter it was downhill all the way) Anwar tried to ‘reinvent’ Pakatan Rakyat. He called PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang aside and whispered in his ear that he was arranging a meeting for PKR, PAS and Umno in London. The purpose of the meeting is for PKR, PAS and Umno to discuss the possibility of forming a unity government without DAP.

Yes, Anwar wanted to replace Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat with a new all-Malay coalition comprising of parties from both sides of the political divide. And the meeting was arranged by Anwar and was to be held in London. Hadi happened to be in London at that time (which was why they scheduled the meeting in December 2013 in London) but Hadi refused to go. Instead he sent his delegation such as Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, Mustapha Ali, Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, etc.

Hadi just wanted to find out what they were planning and if he is not there they cannot make any decision and the meeting would end without any agreement or resolution. Basically, Hadi played the very clever fallback position game so as to not get trapped into something he may have problems getting out of.

Yes, Anwar wanted Hadi to commit to a new alliance with Umno and PKR minus the non-Malay parties such as DAP. Anwar knew that if PKR did not do a deal with Umno then they will have to remain as DAP’s bitch. However, a deal between just Umno and PKR is no bloody good unless PAS joins the grouping as well. For it to work it must be Umno, PKR and PAS or else the Malay votes would be split and that would mean they cannot win the next general election.

Hadi Manchester

Hadi was in London but refused to attend the talks with Umno and PKR that Anwar organised

When the December 2013 talks in London failed, PKR spread the story that PAS was attempting to make a deal wth Umno. Actually it was PKR and Anwar that was tying to make this deal while PAS was against it (and Hadi refused to attend the meeting). And that was the excuse DAP needed. With the Selangor Menteri Besar issue, the Shariah Amendment issue, and now with PAS engaged in secret talks with Umno, DAP announced that Pakatan Rakyat was now closed down and no longer exists.

PAS has betrayed Pakatan Rakyat. PAS was engaged in secret talks with Umno. PAS is trying to form a new all-Malay-all-Muslim alliance to replace Barisan National and Pakatan Rakyat. And for this betrayal PAS must be punished.

Syed Azman

Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad, ex-PAS and now in PAN, was in the London talks as Anwar’s representative

The truth is PAS never once attempted to betray Pakatan Rakyat. Hadi, in fact, refused to attend the meeting in spite of Anwar insisting that he does. It was Anwar who was behind the PKR-PAS-Umno talks. It was PAS who refused to have anything to do with Umno. But PAS was the one that got punished by DAP.

Then they kicked PAS out and treated PAS as a pariah or an outcast. They tried to kill PAS by sponsoring a Team B to take on Hadi and when that failed they formed a new party called PAN or Amanah to rival PAS. They did everything short of employing a hit man to assassinate Hadi.

Anwar made PAS into what it is today. So PAS is now free to do what it wants and talk to whomsoever it wants. PAS was betrayed and was accused of betrayal. Many people supported Pakatan Rakyat and voted DAP and PKR because of PAS. These people are not going to vote Pakatan Harapan that has no PAS in it. And the next general election is going to prove the huge mistake that PKR and DAP made by stabbing PAS in the back. And since PAS has been accused of adultery they might as well commit adultery and enjoy it.

Najib-Hadi

What has Hadi got to lose now after getting hanged for a crime he did not commit?
