Selangor MB denies role in sealing Jamal’s resort

(MMO) – The decision by local authorities to seal a resort owned by Sungai Besar Umno chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos had nothing to do with the Mentri Besar’s office, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said today.

“This is under the purview of respective local councils, not under Shah Alam (MB office),” Azmin said today when queried about the action.

“That is the under the discretion of local council and district officers. They are following existing laws,” he added.

He was speaking to reporters after being questioned by police over his remarks regarding Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar’s daughter.

Last week, the Sabak Bernam District Council sealed the resort in Sekinchan for operating without a valid licence.

Jamal claimed it was due to his criticism of Azmin’s administration.

Azmin also said today that Jamal could “learn” how to sue after the latter filed a suit against the state government over the closure.
