IGP orders investigation on Zaid Ibrahim over tweet
(MMO) – The Police Cyber Investigation Response Centre has been directed to investigate former minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim for accusing the prime minister and attorney-general of being “crooked”.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar issued the order on Twitter, in response to a tweet by Zaid earlier today.
“Looks like if you are a crooked PM, all you have to do is appoint a crooked AG, and the court will not interfere,” Zaid wrote in the offending tweet.
Khalid described the tweet as seditious and misleading.
Zaid wrote the message shortly before a hearing of his application for a judicial review of Attorney-General Tan Sri Apandi Ali’s decision not to take action over two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigations.
