IGP: We will use OSA if Sarawak Report’s 1MDB audit genuine

(MMO) – The police will use the Official Secrets Act (OSA) to probe Sarawak Report if the document allegedly leaked by the whistleblower site is truly the classified federal audit on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said he will first verify if the purported document is the Auditor-General’s report on the sovereign investment firm.

“Actually we are also uncertain whether the document published by Sarawak Report is genuine or not, whether it is a document by the Auditor-General or Sarawak Report got it from somewhere or someone sent to them, or they amended and they publish.

“So let me talk to the Auditor-General to verify whether that document is truly the Auditor-General’s report that has been classified as an official secret,” he told reporters here.

“If it is genuine, we will investigate under OSA,” he added.
