MIC’s legal advisor quits

(The Malaysian Times) – MIC’s legal advisor Datuk Selva Mookiah had tendered his resignation from his position in the party, stating that the parties’ inability to uphold the sanctity of Indian’s and Hindu’s as the reason.

“I am unable under any circumstance to serve a leadership that does not vigorously uphold the sanctity of my religion and race,” read Selva’s resignation letter, which has since gone viral on WhatsApp.

When The Malaysian Times (TMT) contacted Selva, he confirmed that he had indeed resigned, but had declined to comment further on it.

The contents of the letter begin with, Selva saying that he has given his all when aiding the party, but it’s time for them to part ways.

He then said that he is confident that MIC will be able to find a suitable replacement for him amongst the esteemed bureaus of the Congress.

Selva then thanked everyone, adding that he will carry the best memories he has under the tenure of Datuk Seri G Palanivel and Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam.

He highlighted and concluded at the end of his letter that “we are not only politicians, we are Indians too”.
