Dr M driven by personal vengeance, says Salleh Keruak
(The Star) – That Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is campaigning for the Opposition shows that he is driven by personal vengeance to oust the Prime Minister, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak (pix).
Salleh said the former prime minister was only using the Opposition as a platform to further his own agenda against Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
“He (Dr Mahathir) is a former prime minister whom we respect but because of personal vengeance against Najib, he has gone to the ground to campaign for the opposition.
“His main purpose is to oust Najib, he is mixing personal problems with the by-election,” Salleh said during a breaking of fast with residents here.
Salleh said Dr Mahathir was using the same “modus operandi” to oust Najib as he used on Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
He said Dr Mahathir should not be interfering with the running of the government as all prime ministers have their way of administrating the country.
“Each prime minister has his own ways. He can’t expect them to do what he wants,” he said adding that the challenges faced by Najib were global.
Since quitting Umno in April, Dr Mahathir has openly campaigned against Barisan Nasional and pledging his support for Parti Amanah Negara’s candidate in the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections on June 18.
