DAP still under RoS probe, Parliament told

Zahid Hamidi

(MMO) – The Registrar of Societies (RoS) is still investigating DAP over the federal opposition party’s 2013 re-elections as it found “contradictions” in documents submitted, Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.

He added that the RoS was dissatisfied with the documents DAP provided.

“Regarding the investigation status on the re-election done by DAP, RoS is still investigating the matter as RoS needs to scrutinise in details the documents presented by DAP.

“This is because there have been contradictions in the content and the veracity of the documents,” he said in a written parliamentary reply to Umno lawmaker Datuk Noh Omar.

The Tanjung Karang MP asked the status on the investigation DAP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) and the post of its secretary-general.

The RoS in 2013 ordered a re-election of DAP’s CEC  after it found irregularities and manipulation of votes by the party in its initial election in December 2012.

After the re-election, there were claims by some party members that they were denied the right to attend the party congress as delegates.
