Once a victim, Anwar knows Dr M’s ‘heart’ more, Umno man says

(MMO) – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, as a former “victim” of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s, would know best how to handle any cooperation with the former prime minister, Umno’s Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said.

The deputy home minister was commenting on the leaked internal letter penned by Anwar to his PKR colleagues in which he warned the opposition against putting too much trust in Dr Mahathir.

“I think Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim being the victim (of Dr Mahathir) years ago, I think he knows what he is talking about,” Nur Jazlan told reporters when asked to comment on the matter.

Anwar reportedly penned an eight-page letter from the Sungai Buloh prison to PKR leaders to warn them against trusting Dr Mahathir and his Citizens Declaration campaign to unseat Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

He also expressed concern that party leaders have become too involved with the movement.

Dr Mahathir is seen as the de facto leader of the Save Malaysia movement comprising leaders from both sides of the political divide, including some from PKR.

Nur Jazlan suggested the letter penned by Anwar confirmed Umno’s claim that Dr Mahathir is insincere, and that his campaign against Najib is motivated by personal and not public interests.

“Anwar knows Dr Mahathir’s heart more,” he said.
