PKR said the plan to oust Najib started in mid-2013

So what is all this nonsense about 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion then? All that came 18 months later and had nothing to do with the June-July 2013 plot to oust Najib. Looking at the timeline, it is clear that the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion issues are not the reason but the excuse to a plan that had started 18 months earlier (and which needed a good excuse to appear noble and legitimate).

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

The PAS President, Abdul Hadi Awang, said that only a Muslim Bumiputera (so not necessarily Malay) can be the Sarawak Chief Minister. And Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is very unhappy about Hadi’s statement and has whacked him and called him a racist.

I suppose what Hadi said is as bad as saying that only Chinese-educated teachers can serve in Chinese schools. English-educated Chinese or non-Chinese must not be allowed to serve in Chinese schools. Can you ever imagine a Chinese saying something like that? Never in a million years!

Well, at least Hadi is being very honest, open and transparent about where his political sentiments lie. With Hadi you know what you are going to get and either you accept him or reject him based on you know what he stands for. And this is not how Pakatan Harapan conducts its business.

Take just one example, the ‘Kajang Move’. They keep changing the story about why the Kajang Move is necessary and then what they declare is not going to happen actually happens in the end. And this is why Hadi refused to support the Kajang Move. He knew that PKR and DAP were lying.

No, it is not about ousting Selangor Menteri Khalid Ibrahim. No, it is not about tying to make Anwar Ibrahim the new Menteri Besar. No, it is not about trying to make Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail the new Menteri Besar. Khalid is the most hardworking, honest, clean, sincere and transparent Menteri Besar in Selangor history who does not have a single blemish on his track record.

And the one that takes the first prize: The reason Anwar needs to become the Selangor Menteri Besar is to save the state in case Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak is ousted.

Yes, back in mid-2013 they already revealed they knew there was a move to oust Najib — and that was why they needed to oust Khalid (to save Selangor in case Najib is ousted). Does that make sense? If Najib falls then Selangor falls. But if Khalid is replaced with Anwar then Selangor will not fall even if Najib falls.

I took two philosophy courses in Oxford and I still can’t figure out the opposition argument regarding the Kajang Move. If Najib falls and if Khalid is MB then Selangor falls. If Najib falls but Anwar is MB instead then Selangor will not fall. Is it just me or do others also fail to see the logic in this argument?

Anyway, what is most crucial to note is that way back in mid-2013, three years ago, Pakatan already made its move to replace Khalid as the Selangor Menteri Besar. And the reason they wanted to replace Khalid is because of the move to oust Najib.

But how did Pakatan know back in mid-2013 that there was a move to oust Najib (unless they are part of that conspiracy)? In 2015, they said Najib must be ousted because of 1MDB plus because of the RM2.6 billion. But then back in mid-2013 the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion issues were not yet issues. So can these be the reasons why they needed to oust Najib?

It looks like the move to oust Najib already started soon after the 5th May 2013 general election (with the excuse that Najib sold out to Singapore plus gives too much face to the Chinese who do not support Umno).

Then, when Mukhriz Mahathir lost his bid for an Umno vice-president’s seat in October that same year, the move to oust Najib intensified. But it was still not yet about 1MDB or about the RM2.6 billion. It was still about Najib selling out to Singapore and about the Crooked Bridge and about Najib giving the Chinese too much face while neglecting the Malay voters who are the ones supporting Umno (while the Chinese do not support Umno).

So there you have it. The Kajang Move was mooted soon after the 5th May 2013 general election. In May 2013 Khalid was reappointed the Selangor Menteri Besar for a second term because he was the most hardworking, honest, clean, sincere and transparent Menteri Besar in Selangor history who did not have a single blemish on his track record.

Then, by June-July 2013, they started planning the move to replace Khalid. And the reason they needed to replace Khalid was to save Selangor in the event that Najib got ousted. So the move to oust Najib was already on the table in June-July 2013. And then, three months later, when Mukhriz lost his bid for a vice-president’s seat, the move to oust Najib got carved in stone.

If Najib had made sure that Mukhriz won one of the Umno vice-president’s posts then Najib would have been given a reprieve. But Najib did not, and Mukhriz lost, so Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad signed Najib’s ‘death warrant’ and sat down with the opposition to plot Najib’s demise.
