(Bernama) – Police will be wrapping-up their probe into the statutory declaration by businesswoman Phang Li Koon pertaining to the sale of a bungalow to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, said Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar.

He said the investigation papers were in the fine-tuning stage after being returned by the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) for more information.

“The papers will be resubmitted to the AGC by this week,” he told reporters after attending the launching of the Malaysian Integrity Test (MIT), officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi here yesterday.

The purchase of the bungalow in Jalan Pinhorn, George Town, by Lim became a subject of controversy as it was learnt that it was bought below market price.

On March 22, Phang issued a statutory declaration that she did not have the property evaluated before selling it to Lim.

Police reports however were later lodged alleging that the SD likely contained false information, thereby triggering a probe to commence on the matter.
