Mahathir finally confirms he wants Mukhriz as PM

Even back on 1st March 2015 when we met him it was very clear that Mahathir had another candidate in mind and he was not going to share that name with us. And that was because the candidate is his son, Mukhriz.

Dr M: Not for us to say who’s next PM, it may not be Zahid

(Malaysiakini) – Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad today said it is not Save Malaysia’s place to name who should be the next prime minister.

Mahathir reiterated the group’s main priority now is to remove Najib from office.

“After that we will decide who becomes prime minister. It is not for us to name a prime minister from here or there.”

“The main thing is he (Najib) must go because he’s the main stumbling block,” he said in a press conference after the conclusion of Save Malaysia’s People’s Congress in Shah Alam today.

He noted that by convention, the prime minister is the leader of the party which holds the most seats in the Dewan Rakyat.

However, this does not mean Umno vice-president and deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi would take over as PM if Najib is ousted.

“Not necessarily,” he said.

So there you have it. In spite of the many sceptics who pooh-pooh what I say, what I have been saying for a year has been proven true after all. And did I not say this before? It may take five years or it may take ten years, but finally what I say gets proven true in the end.

So does that not make me Malaysia’s number one Blogger? After all, how many Bloggers can claim that more than half who read what they write are people who hate them? And that is the case with Malaysia Today. More than half who visit Malaysia Today and read what I write are people who hate me.

What can I say? I am the Blogger who they love to hate. So hate away chums. But what I said a year ago has been proven true. And it has been proven true by no less than Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad himself.

First of all, he confessed that he wants Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak removed by unconstitutional means. He even said there is no provision in the Constitution for His Majesty the Agong to remove a Prime Minister but he still wants the Agong to do it anyway.

That, in case you do not know, is called a coup d’etat (definition: an overthrow or sudden and forced seizure of a state instigated by a small group to depose the established regime and replace it with a new ruling body).

Secondly, Mahathir confessed he does not want to discuss yet who should replace Najib as Prime Minister if and when they successfully launch their unconstitutional coup d’etat. That will be discussed only after Najib is ousted.

In short, oust Najib first and then we can fight it out later as to who should take over. Hmm…this sounds like Nigeria of the 1960s. And until today, 50 years later, people are still getting murdered every day in Nigeria (as I write this one Colonel has just been kidnapped).

Thirdly, Mahathir does not want Muhyiddin or Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as Najib’s successor. So who then does he want as Najib’s successor? We will not talk about it now. We will discuss it later after Najib has been ousted.

Why? Because if we talk about it now then Mahathir will have to confess that he wants his son Mukhriz as the new Prime Minister. And the fact he will not say this is already as good as a confession that he wants Mukhriz.

I met Mahathir on the evening of 1st March 2015 is his home in London. The meeting was arranged by that Chinese tycoon I always talk about but thus far have never identified by name. Mokhzani was there and he actually told some friends about the meeting (and they in turn told me that Mokhzani had told them).

So the meeting was no secret. Probably 100 people knew about it then. And now 500,000 of Malaysia Today’s readers know about it — and maybe even 1 million if this article is shared or forwarded.

The purpose of the meeting was for me to join the ANC (Anti-Najib Campaign). And my job will be exactly like what I had to do in 2008 — attack Najib. But this time I will not have to sign any Statutory Declaration like in June 2008. I just need to write every day (like now) and attack Najib.

It was a two-hour meeting but at the end of the meeting, before I decided whether to join the ANC and start attacking Najib, I asked two questions. First question was: who will take over as Prime Minister once Najib is ousted?

Mahathir would not say whom. So I asked my second question. “Can you accept Zahid Hamidi as PM, Tun?”

Mahathir replied that Zahid is too close to Anwar — meaning Mahathir cannot accept Zahid as Prime Minister. Even more important, he cannot accept anyone perceived as close to Anwar as Prime Minister (which means Mahathir still cannot reconcile with Anwar).

Why did Mahathir not reply that since Muhyiddin is number two then he should take over from Najib? And Zahid is not close to Anwar. So why say that you cannot accept Zahid because he is too close to Anwar?

Even back on 1st March 2015 when we met him it was very clear that Mahathir had another candidate in mind and he was not going to share that name with us. And that was because the candidate is his son, Mukhriz.

So there you have it. But that is not going to happen. Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has already warned Umno members not to attend the Save Malaysia gathering yesterday. Mukhriz and Muhyiddin, however, defied that party decree. So, by next month or so, these two are going to be sacked from Umno.

And this does not need to go to the Umno Disciplinary Board. The Umno Supreme Council can sack them. So if Mukhriz wants to become the next Prime Minister it will have to be as a Pakatan Harapan Prime Minister. And for that to happen Pakatan Harapan must first win the next general election.

RM10,000 says that is never going to happen. Anyone want to cover that bet?
