Rafizi: Our only aim is to oust Najib

(The Star) – The cooperation formed under the Citizens Declaration is not intended for anyone’s personal use, say Pakatan Harapan leaders.

PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli said it is ultimately the motive behind the declaration that matters.

“It’s not about who is using who or what, it’s about the motive we have and that is to ultimately remove Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as Prime Minister,” he said at Parliament lobby Tuesday.

He said that although Pakatan and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad do not agree on everything, this is one of those things on which they are willing to work together to achieve.

He was echoed by Pakatan secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, who said no one needed to give up anything to achieve the aims in the declaration.

“He (Dr Mahathir) can keep his beliefs and principles and we will keep ours. We just work together to achieve certain goals,” he said.

On Monday, Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said Dr Mahathir had fallen into DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang’s trap in his campaign to oust the Prime Minister.
