Dr Mahathir the reason for Mukhriz’s ouster, says Nazri
(TMI) – Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said it was Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s actions that had caused his son to be dropped as Kedah menteri besar.
He said because of this, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir was now considered a “political failure”.
“He has been dropped even before completing his term.
“People usually leave their post to get a higher one, but in his case, he was dropped, and this is clearly embarrassing to Mahathir’s family,” Nazri told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.
Nazri said it would have been frustrating to the former prime minister that there was no repercussion to his son being dropped from office.
“There has been no large-scale demonstration, so he is frustrated.
“That is why he is calling on the public to demonstrate because nobody seems to care that his son has been dropped.”
He added that no menteri besar was dropped without a reason, and that Mukhriz had to go because he had failed.
Asked to clarify whether he was saying Mukhriz was dropped because of his father’s actions or because he had failed as menteri besar, Nazri said after Dr Mahathir’s attempts to push Datuk Seri Najib Razak out, many of the prime minister’s supporters were upset.
“Najib has a lot of supporters and they were not happy with Dr Mahathir.
“But if Mukhriz had been a good leader, of course if would have been difficult to remove him.
