(The Star) – DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang (pic) was left a little shaken after a group of men disrupted a talk in Taman Megah Ria, Seri Alam here.

The event, attended by about 100 people at a coffee shop, saw Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong criticising the Government.

A man then walked into the coffee shop at about 2.20pm and warned everyone to leave.

After an exchange of words, Liew and Lim agreed to leave but before they could do so several others blocked their path and hurled vulgarities.

Some were seen throwing a broom, glass cups and flipping over some of the tables in the shop.

DAP supporters and policemen at the scene quickly formed a human barricade to shield Lim into his waiting car. The veteran politician is said to be unhurt.

A party supporter claimed that Liew was choked by one of the intruders while he was getting into his car.

Earlier, a WhatsApp message had circulated to call on Umno members to fight for their rights and stop the DAP from entering their turf.

When contacted, Seri Alam deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Norazam Saari said a media statement would be issued soon regarding the matter.
